ScreenVWM 0.9
ScreenWM 0.9 has been released. ScreenVWM is a combination virtual window manager and taskbar, with an unusual take on virtual desktops. The focus of this release is on multi-monitor handling. There is one virtual desktop visible for each monitor, and you can move desktops between monitors freely. Note that this version doesn't resize or reposition windows when they move to different monitors, so it's best if all monitors are at the same screen resolution.

Another nightly build
We have posted another nightly build, for 2009-01-10. Get it here:
http://www.lsdev.org/doku.php?id=lsdev:downloads#cvs_experimental_binaries
Changes include a fix for StartupRunner, which skipped some startup items before. This is not the fix for 64-Bit startup items, however.

ScreenWM 0.8
ScreenWM 0.8 has been released. ScreenVWM is a combination virtual window manager and taskbar, with an unusual take on virtual desktops. This version fixed many bugs and adds experimental support for child modules, which fit into the taskbar's internal layout. Note that to act as a child module, a module needs to support having its parent set by initModuleEx, which for many modules is broken since this functionality was previously unused.

xModules
Andymon has released new versions of his xModules (xTray, xLabel, xPopup, xTaskbar, xPaintClass, xDesk, and xStatsClass).
The changes/additions are too plentiful to list here, so head over to his site and read all about it. http://ls-universe.info
There are also new documentation for all the modules that I (Tobbe) and Andymon have collaborated on. You can find them at http://xdocs.ls-universe.info/dokuwiki/

Vista progress
Lots of progress in terms of Vista compatibility. Among other things, LS now loads the new Alt-Tab replacement and the network and volume icons. AppBar support is fixed too.
Unfortunately, some old modules can't fully cope with Vista - for example, depending on the tray module, the network icon might only show its "network broken" icon and/or it may not react to mouse clicks. Or the volume control slider might pop up in the wrong place. Lots of subtle and not so subtle bugs.

Code cleanup
Since last weekend we have removed a ton of dead code from the LiteStep source code. This kind of code tends to accumulate over time, and we finally sat down and erased a lot of it. It's all in source control in case we need it back, of course.
This isn't a change you would notice in a daily build or such, but it certainly makes development a tad easier.

LSDev.org is back online
LSDev.org is back online. We moved it to a new host provided by Gregory J. Weaver. No data has been lost and development is back on track.
